Hello my crafty friends, how was your weekend? I’m so glad you’ve stopped by today because today I’m sharing a set of my favorite cards. I make these cards for my Aunt every couple of months using the same image and sentiment but different coloring and background. I do all types of skin tones but this time she only needed light because she still has quite a few of the darker skinned ones left. I hope you will like these cards as much as I like making them!
The stamp set I use is from the brand Kraftin’ Kimmie, which you can check out here. Unfortunately I can’t seem to find the stamp on her site anymore. Usually I color the image completely with my colored pencils but this time I only did the eyes and bricks with colored pencils, everything else was done with my Copic Sketch Markers. I did the ink smooshing technique with my Distress Oxide inks for the backgrounds. I used three different shades of each color the girl is wearing. I then used plain black cardstock for the sentiment. I stamped the sentiment with Versamark embossing ink and the heat set it with Ranger fine detail embossing powder in gold. I then took the second smallest size of my Simon Says Stamp square dies and cut the sentiment out. Usually I do a circle but I decided to change it up a bit and I really like how it turned out. Everything was adhered with my favorite dry adhesive, Scor Tape. The insides of the cards are blank. I used glitter gel pen on the bottom lid/waterline of each girl and gave each of them a pearl earring from the Studio Katia Color Burst Pearls. Usually I use a different color for each but these pearls are multicolored and it worked with all four of the color schemes.
I love making these cards so much. I really hope you enjoyed this week’s Card Spotlight. Thank you so much for stopping by today, your support of my blog really means so much.
