Card Spotlight: You Tied the Knot!

Hello my crafty friends, I’m so glad to be back! Last week, all week, our internet was out- we wound up switching providers because who we were with was just not working, we kept getting disconnected and things like that. More time to make cards though! I finished this card last night for my Aunt. I hope you will like it!

For the main image on the card I used the Simon Says Stamp Heart Rose rubber cling stamp. I used my Gansai Tambi watercolors to color in the rose. I used the new light purple color and then took the darker purple from the older palette I have and used it to deepen certain areas. I have all the colors in two palettes but if you want to get the paints and have all of the colors in one palette, get the largest Gansai Tambi palette or if you have the second largest palette like I do you can get a small palette that just has the new colors in it. Once that was all dry, I took my Finetec Metallic watercolors and splattered the upper part of the watercolor paper with the silver metallic paint and then I added some green splatter from my Gansai Tambi palette. I splattered it in such a way I missed the heart rose completely. I did re-stamp the rose heart over the watercoloring because the paint had obscured some of the lines and I needed to fix that. I had left the stamp in my Mini MISTI so re-stamping it was a breeze. I then cut the word and shadow of the ‘Congrats’ using the Simon Says Stamp and CZ Designs ‘Congrats’ dies. I cut the shadow from green burnished metallic cardstock and the word from Tonic Holographic Mirror cardstock. Which is the same cardstock I used to mat the watercolor paper on the card. On the inside of the card I used the Catherine Pooler ‘Tie the Knot Sentiments’ stamp set. I used Catherine Pooler ‘Grass Skirt’ dye ink for the sentiment and then for the knot I used Delicata Silvery Shimmer pigment ink. I really like how this card turned out and it didn’t take a long time to make.
