Card Spotlight: The Boo Crew

Hello, my crafty friends and welcome back! Or, welcome, to any new viewers! I’ve been on a Halloween card making kick (check out my Instagram-linked below- to see what else I’ve made!) For this card I used the Simon Says Stamp ‘The Boo Crew’ stamp set and dies. This is a large 6×8 stamp set and it has a ton of images and each image has its own die cut. I went to town on this card. Let me show you how I did it!

All of the kids, the headstone, the cat, and the witches hat on the cat were all colored with my Copic Sketch Markers. The owl, the moon, the word ‘Halloween’, and the three pumpkins were all colored with my Faber Castell Albrecht Durer Watercolor Pencils. I had just received them and I wanted to play around with them and I have to say I am quite impressed. The background is all watercolors. I used my Gansai Tambi watercolors for the grass and for the sky wash. The gold splatter came from my Fine-tec watercolors and the white splatter is Picket Fence Distress paint. Since I had to wait for the background to dry, this card took two days to complete which I’m totally okay with because I love it. The sentiment on the inside of the card is stamped with the Mandarin Spice dye ink from Catherine Pooler. I am really proud with how this card came out, I don’t usually do scene cards but the stamp set just screamed for it. What have you created for Halloween? 🎃
