Hello, my crafty friends, and thanks for stopping by! It’s Tuesday which means it’s time for the current Just Us Girls card challenge! To check it out, click here. This week is Word Week and the word is ‘Rainbow’! If you’ve been following along on my blog for any amount of time you’d know how much I love doing things in rainbow colors. Today, I decided to make a simple card and actually make a rainbow! Keep reading below to see what I made 😊
First, I went through my stash and found some 6×6 basic paper in rainbow colors. I then pulled out my stitched rainbow die that I believe is from MFT Stamps and then I also took a cloud die from the Hero Arts cloud die nesting set (which I then lost and had to free hand the second cloud, ugh). I cut out a piece from each of the colors of cardstock to fit the size of the die and then I ran them one by one through my die cutting machine.
Once I had everything cut, I went through the pieces and found the right size for each color. I then loosely lined them up on my top folding A2 card base and added the clouds to make sure I had them just how I wanted them. Once I was happy with that, I took my Simon Says Stamp Craft Tacky Glue and applied that to the back of each of the strips and laid them onto the card. I then took the same glue and applied it to the back of the white glitter clouds. I used the Simon Says Stamp white glitter cardstock for the clouds.
I took the sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp ‘Beautiful Butterflies’ stamp set. I wiped the area between the clouds down with my Anti-Static powder tool to prepare it for heat embossing. I then inked up the sentiment with my Versamark embossing ink and stamped it between the two clouds, in the center of the rainbow. Next, I sprinkled the sentiment with my Ranger Fine Detail Gold embossing powder, tapped off the excess, and then heat set it with my Wagner heat tool.
I resisted the urge to add a ton of sequins and gems, I like the simplicity of this card. I love the stitching on each of the rainbow strips, I love when dies have little details like that.
Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope you liked today’s card.
