Hello, my crafty friends and welcome to my crafty blog! Today I want to share with you a card I made for the current Crafty Friends card challenge. The challenge this fortnight is a card that focuses on men and/ or boys. This was perfect because I had just received my Unity Stamp Co order and it had the perfect stamp! I’m excited to show you, so let’s get started.
The stamp set I used for this card is called the Sawyer Guy. It came with a great amount of sentiments and one central image. I love the Unity Stamp Co stamps, they have great sentiments and images that are so fun to color.
I put my stamp into my MISTI, after removing the black foam of course, and got to stamping. I stamped my image onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper and I stamped the image in my favorite ink, Versafine Onyx Black pigment ink.
Once he was stamped, I was so ready to color him. I colored him with my Prismacolor Premier colored pencils. To blend the colors I used a Prismacolor Colorless Blender. I have decided that I really like using the colorless blender with my cards, they blend just as well as my blending solution but they aren’t as messy.
I used the ‘Hey Guy’ sentiment from the set as the sentiment for the front of the card. I ran my embossing bag over the area I wanted to stamp my sentiment to make sure there would be stray marks. I then stamped the sentiment with my Versamark Embossing Ink. I then took my Nuvo Embossing Powder in Glitter Noir and sprinkled it over the sentiment. I heat set it with my Wagner heat tool.
Next I stamped a ‘Hang in there’ sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black pigment ink.
Here is the finished card. I liked how the teal and grey worked together. I am really pleased with the simplicity of this card, I’m trying to reign myself in from adding sequins and gems and every embellishment I own.
