Hello, my crafty friends! Today I want to share with you the card I created for the Stamping Sensations card challenge. The challenge this time is “make it colorful”. It took me a few times to get the card just right because I kept trying this and that, trying colorful stamping but until I came across the butterfly stamp set from MFT I was getting bound to give up. I know, I shouldn’t but I was just getting so frustrated. Alas, I found the stamp set I used and I loved the result. Curious? Keep reading!
I used the My Favorite Things ‘Beautiful Butterflies’ layering stamp set. I used all Hero Arts inks, bar one. As you can see, the first butterfly I tried didn’t stamp out right so I just flipped the cardstock over and tried again. That time I got it right.
The inks I used are: Hero Arts Orchid, Hero Arts Mulled Wine, Hero Arts Crimson, Hero Arts Red Royal, Hero Arts Rose Madder, Hero Arts Awareness Pink (my own name), Hero Arts Cotton Candy (my own name), and Lawn Fawn Plastic Flamingo. I used all of my Hero Arts (and Lawn Fawn) cube inks because that’s really the only colorful dye inks I own. Most of them came from the Hero Arts kits and they didn’t have names so, as you can read, I named two of them myself. The other ones were ones I bought in the four cube set you can get from Hero Arts. I used my Versafine Onyx Black pigment ink to do the third layer of each butterfly. I stamped all of the butterflies on my Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper.
For all of the sentiments I used the Hero Arts ‘You Are Loved Messages’ stamp set. I stamped the main sentiment in Versamark embossing ink and then sprinkled my Ranger Fine Detail Gold embossing powder over it and then heat set it with my tool. I then stamped a second sentiment in the bottom left corner using my Versafine Onyx Black.
I then stamped my sentiment on the inside of the card using the same Hero Arts set I had used on the front. I then stamped four hearts in Gina K Premium Dye Ink in red.
Next, I took my 1/4″ Scor Tape and placed it on the back of my stamped panel. I then lined it up with my card base and adhered it on.
I can’t do a card without adding some form of embellishment, I think it finishes the card off nicely. For this card I used the Pretty Pink Posh Spring Bloom Mix that I got in a kit, I believe. The colors worked really nicely with the colors of the butterflies. I attached the sequins using my Ranger Multi Medium Matte which is my favorite glue for embellishments.
Here is the final card, what do you think? I am so glad I found this stamp set, it worked great for this challenge.
Thank you so much for stopping by today, it really does mean the world to me. I had a lot of fun making this card, I hope you enjoyed it too.
