Hello my crafty friends and thank you for stopping by today! It’s Tuesday which means I’m going to share with you my entry for this week’s card entry for the Just Us Girls Card Challenge. This week is trend week and the trend is Mini! I really enjoyed making this card, it wound up being a simple, CAS card (but there are layers).

Right before I made this card I received my Cardmaking and Papercraft April Issue 207. The cover gift turned out to be perfect for this challenge! I took the stamp that was the image of a pier and stamped it onto my Strathmore Colored Pencil Paper* with my Verafine Onyx Black pigment ink.* There is a bit of tooth to the paper but not as much as watercolor paper has.
I then took to coloring the pier image I had just stamped. I used my Wanshui Colored Pencils* to color in the image. Once it was colored, I cut it out using a Double Stitched Art Impressions Circle Die. I love these Art Impressions dies, they give a nice finished look to a simple image.
Next I took my card base (made from Neenah Classic Crest 110# cardstock*) and heat embossed the sentiment. I took the sentiment from the cover gift that I got with my magazine and had used for the mini image. I first wiped my card base down with my Inkadinkadoo Embossing Powder bag* that way I wouldn’t get stray embossing powder where I didn’t want it. I inked the sentiment up with my Versamark Embossing Ink* and stamped it down onto the upper left corner of my card. I then sprinkled my Wendy Vecchi Garden Patina embossing powder. I felt the embossing powder matched the blue in the image. I then heat set it with my Wagner Heat Tool*. I then heated the sentiment until it was glossy and smooth.
Next I took my foam tape and applied the tape to the back of my circle. Once I had that applied, I stamped the inside again using stamps from the cover gift. I stamped the sentiment and little boat using Gina K Premium Dye Ink in blue and yellow.
To add a bit of interest to the card, I added some jewels from Little Things From Lucy’s Cards in Shimmering Pool Mix and Clear Iridescent Mix. I attached the jewels using my ever trusty Ranger Multi Medium Matte liquid glue.* I used my jewel picker to help me apply the jewels directly where I wanted them to go.
This is the final card! Simple and with a mini scene in the bottom corner. What have you created recently? I would love to know and see! Thank you so much for stopping by, it really means a lot.
