Fusion Card Challenge Card

This week I decided to try a new challenge blog and I had heard a lot about the Fusion challenges so I thought I would give them a try. Check out the Fusion Card Challenge blog to check out the current challenge! As you well know, I’ve been doing the Just Us Girls Challenge every week but I decided I wanted to try another. I hope you enjoy today’s post!

I stamped my image onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper. I took the rain boot image from the Simon Says Stamp ‘Showers and Flowers’ stamp set. I stamped the image using my Gina K Amalgam Ink in Obsidian because I wasn’t sure if I would be using Gamsol and the Amalgam ink plays nicely with Gamsol unlike many other inks. I had just reinked my pad so I had to be very careful and use very light pressure. This meant I only had to stamp the image once which was a nice change of pace.

Instead of using my Prismacolors to color the image, I used a new set I got. The Wanshui colored pencils. I’ve been really pleased with how these have been working out. They are oil based so you don’t get that waxy shine you get with wax based pencils. I will be reviewing these pencils soon, so be sure to check back if you’re interested!

I then took a piece of my purple cardstock and cut it to 5 1/2″ x 2 1/2″. I then took the second largest circle in my Art Impressions Double Stitched circle dies and cut out my rain boot image. I did have to cut off some small parts on the image. It was just little buds so nothing big. I then took my 1/4″ Scor Tape and backed the circle and the purple cardstock. I then peeled the backing off and placed them where I wanted them to go.

Next I took my Simon Says Stamp ‘Lots of Thanks’ stamp set. I first took my Embossing Buddy from Inkadinkadoo and ran it all over the purple cardstock where I wanted to place my sentiment. I then took my Versamark and inked up the simple ‘Thank You’ stamp and then stamped it down onto the paper. I then used the Simon Says Stamp Fine Detail White embossing powder. I then heat set everything with my Wagner Heat Tool. They have a new one out, which is what I’ve linked to but whichever heat gun you use will be fine.

It wouldn’t be a card from me if there wasn’t any sort of bling! I decided to use my Studio Katia Arctic Breeze Pearls as my accent. I applied each pearl using the Crystal Kubaton and the Ranger Multi Medium glue. I like using the Ranger glue, it’s my go to! I find it to be some of the strongest glue I have used in my crafting. I do add a needle nose tip to the bottle so I can do finer pieces.

Here’s the final card! What do you think? I decided to do a fusion of both inspirations for this week’s card. If I had had a teacher set, I so would have done a teacher thank you note. On the inside I used a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp ‘Thankful Flowers’ stamp set and stamped the sentiment using a green Gina K. Premium Dye Ink.
