Hello my crafty friends and thanks for stopping by. Today I’m sharing a Thank You card I made for my dad to give to someone who’s been helping him after his surgery last December. Keep in mind, when I made this card, it was about 2 in the morning so there are very few pictures but I will always tell you what I have done.
*Some links provided will be affilliate links. This means that, at NO EXTRA COST TO YOU, I will receive a small commission which will go right back into this blog so I can bring you even more content. Thank you, in advance, for your support. *
When I started this card, I started out by cutting out the words ‘Thank you’ from Pretty Pink Posh. I took a piece of what I’m calling antique gold paper that I had received in a My Monthly Hero kit and ran the die and the paper through my die cutting machine.
I then cut down a piece of floral patterned paper that came in a cover gift with Cardmaking and Papercraft. I cut the piece down to be 4″ x 5 1/2″ so that there would be some white peeking out from the sides. I then took a piece of pastel purple paper, I got mine from the Colorbok brand at JoAnn’s, and I cut it to 5 1/2″ x 1 1/4″. I then attached them to the card using 1/2″ Scor Tape*. I put the purple stripe right down the center of the card and then attached both pieces to my card base. The card base was made out of Neenah Classic Crest White 110lb cardstock*. I always purchase a full ream because it is the paper I use for my cardbases and I make a lot of those, hah! If you want to try it but don’t want to buy the full ream, check out Simon Says Stamp because they carry it in a 25 sheet pack for under $10. Let’s see that final card!
Here’s the final product! The white sentiment strip is from a free digital stamp set from Polkadoodles. The sentiment is a part of her Winnie Heroes- Printable Digital Download Bundle. I just thought the card needed a little something more on the front. I stacked some pieces of cardstock beneath it to help pop it up a bit. You can’t see but I used a Nuvo Shimmer pen on the die cut sentiment to add just a hint of sparkle. That’s the final card!
