Hello there, my crafty friends and thanks so much for stopping by! Today I wanted to share with you a card I’ve made for my cousin’s anniversary… in July… I want to be ahead. I know I usually post my entry for the JUGs Card Challenge on Tuesday’s but this week it will be a bonus post on Wednesday so be sure to come back! Anyway, I made this card very simple but elegant, I didn’t want to do anything too busy. Let me show you what I used!
I used three different inks on the card: Delicata Ruby Red pigment ink, Versafine Onyx Black pigment ink, and Versamark Watermark ink. The stamp set I used is from Hero Arts and is a layering stamp set with the word ‘Love’. Unfortunately I was unable to find the stamp set that I used on the Hero Arts website. I had gotten it a few years ago so it must be discontinued, I’m sorry.
I stamped the base ‘Love’ with the Delicata ink and I stamped it a total of four times to get the opacity that I wanted. The then took the fancy outline layer, lined it up, and stamped it with Versamark. I then took my gold glitter embossing powder from Michael’s and sprinkled it onto the Versamark ink. I then heat set it with my Wagner heat tool. I did heat it before stamping with the embossing ink because I had used a pigment ink prior and I didn’t want any of the embossing powder sticking where I didn’t want it. I also used my embossing buddy from Inkadinkado.
I felt it looked a little too simple for my liking so I took my Soft Ivory Mix of pearls from Little Things from Lucy’s Cards and added a sprinkling of them to the card. I adhered them to the card with my Ranger Multi Medium Matte. I find that this works best because it dries matte so if you make a mistake or get some smeared onto the card, it is a lot less noticeable.
This is the final product. I told you it was simple! I really enjoyed making this card, I found it very relaxing to do. What have you been making lately during this time of social distancing? I hope you enjoyed today’s post. If you did, please consider following and subscribing here and on Instagram (@ cardstockqueen). I post every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 11AM PST. I hope to see you soon but until then, keep creating! XO❤
