Hello my crafty ones, and thank you for taking time out of your day to stop by! Today I want to share with you an Easter card I made this week. It’s a fairly simple card but sometimes simplicity is best. It was a struggle to restrain myself from adding lots of embellishments because I really wanted this to be a one layer card. Let me show you what I did!
I used my MISTI stamping tool to stamp the main focal image which is a stamp from StampingBella and it’s called the “Uptown Girl Bunny with her Daffodil”. I stamped the image onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper. This is a cling stamp so I had to take the insert out of my MISTI to be able to stamp the image. I stamped the image with my Versafine Onyx Black ink. It’s a pigment ink but it dries quickly making it great for coloring (just don’t use Gamsol over it). Once my image was stamped I colored it in with my Prismacolor Premier colored pencils.
I wanted to add some shimmer to my card so I took my Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen in ‘Glitter Gloss’ and put it over top the egg she is holding. I then took the ‘Happy Easter’ sentiment from a Lawn Fawn set and stamped it onto the top of the card. I stamped it using my Verafine Onyx Black ink and didn’t do any heat embossing (the horror! lol).
Here’s the final product, on the inside I used stamps from the Craftin’ Desert Divas ‘Jellybean Kisses’ stamp set. Everything on the inside is stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink. Once I had stamped everything inside I then added Scor Tape to the back of the panel with the girl on it and I attached it to the front of the card.
There you have it! A nice and clean one layer card for Easter. Have you made any Easter cards yet? They’re my second favorite to Christmas cards.
