Alcohol Ink Birthday Card

Hello my crafty friends and thank you for stopping by! Today I want to share with you a birthday card I created using my alcohol inks. I would up using so much alcohol ink that I had to let it dry over night just so I could touch it without the ink moving, smearing, or getting finger prints! In spite of that, I am really happy with how this card turned out. I’d love to know what you think! Constructive criticism is always welcome. I will try to link to as many products as possible. These are not affiliate links, I provide them to aid your shopping 😉

Let’s start with the base, which is the alcohol ink art. The alcohol inks I used were all purchased from Simon Says Stamp. This is their alcohol ink page. The alcohol inks I used are Meadow, Limeade, Patina, Cloudy Blue Aqua, Turquoise, and Mermaid. I of course did this on Yupo Paper. The green definitely took over the card but I didn’t feel like it was overwhelming so I decided to run with it. The silver glitter paper you see there is the Simon Says Stamp glitter paper in the 8.5″ x 11″ size. This larger size is a bit lighter than the smaller 6×6 size. I love this glitter paper because it DOES. NOT. SHED. It’s a miracle!!

I then took the Pretty Pink Posh ‘Happy Birthday’ die cut and cut the words out of the Simon Says Stamp silver glitter paper. I then used my Ranger Multi Medium Matte and glued the words down with the help of my reverse tweezers from EK Success. When doing and gluing down things like this that are so delicate, it really saves time having the reverse tweezers. I have no clue what I would do without them!

For a final bit of embellishment, I used the Jewels Platinum Mix from Little Things from Lucy’s Cards. I always have to add a little bit of bling. For me it just ties the card together. I love Little Things from Lucy’s Cards, she’s my favorite shop for jewels and pearls. I either get them from Simon Says Stamp or I will order them straight from her shop and get them mailed to me from England. I love them that much!! Here’s the finished card:
