Hello my crafty friends and welcome to another card spotlight! I’m currently in the process of making birthday and anniversary cards for family and friends throughout the year and I pulled this stamp set and paper pad for this card. The stamp set is from Hero Arts specifically one of their Monthly Hero kits from back in 2017. I don’t know the proper name for the stamp set but I call it the Paper Doll set. I used that stamp set and an Authentique paper set called ‘Fabulous’ (discontinued). Let me show you a few pointers on how I put it together!
I cut out the image and sentiment I stamped using Versafine Onyx Black ink as well as the background paper using double stitch rectangle and circle dies from Art Impressions. I love the stitching detail for this card because I feel it goes well with the little ‘paper doll’ I created with the stamps in the set.
Then I took 1/4″ Scor Tape and put it around the perimeter of the back of my rectangle pieces. I then took my foam tape and put that onto the back of the circle. I wanted there to be some interest and dimension but not so much as to take away from the simple design of the card.
Here is the final product. The sentiment on the front is from the same stamp set where I got the pieces for the image but on the inside I used the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Message stamp set. Again on both of the sentiments inside and out I used my Versafine Onyx Black ink. I love this ink because while it is a pigment ink, it is fast drying and it is really super black and gives me good, crisp lines. I was surprised at myself when I decided against adding any sequins or gems. I love to add those. But I really wanted the card to be simple and elegant. I hope that is what you think I got.
I hope you enjoyed today’s short and sweet post! Do you like the simplicity of this card or do you like it more when I go all out? I’d love to hear from you down below.
