Hello, my crafty friends and welcome back! I’m back with another card I’ve made for the Just Us Girls blog challenge. This week is Trend Week with the inspiration being Stripes! I love participating in the challenges on the Just Us Girls blog because while they push me to try new things, I don’t get overwhelmed and wind up creating nothing. Let me show you what I created for this week’s challenge!
For the stripes I used the Simon Says Stamp ‘Basic Stripes’ stamp set. I used Distress Oxide inks in Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, and Mustard Seed. I chose these colors because they’re vibrant and play well together. The sentiment is from the latest ‘My Monthly Hero’ stamp set as are the sequins I used across the card. I heat embossed the sentiment with Altenew embossing powder in ‘Golden Peach’. I really like how this color looked against the brown background of the circle. I used brown instead of black because the color seemed too harsh against the bright colors. I used the Art Impressions double stitch circle dies to cut out the brown sentiment circle. I also used Multi Matte Medium to attach the sequins and foam tape that I got from Amazon in a big roll to attach the sentiment circle because I wanted to add some dimension to the card.
That’s it for this week’s bonus post, did you like it? What do you think of the card? If you’re looking to try card challenges and don’t know where to start, I would definitely recommend JUGs. They’re friendly, supportive, and the challenges feel more doable than some others I’ve come across.
