Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome back! Today I wanted to spotlight a card I made using the recent Simon Says Stamp card kit. This is using the one that comes every month, not the limited edition one although that one looks gorgeous too! This month’s kit gave you what you needed to make a really cool shaker card. I love making shaker cards but sometimes it’s a little difficult to get everything layered correctly. I’m working on getting better at that, though. This post contains links but they are not affiliate so I make nothing if you purchase from them. I include them to make shopping easier.
The stamp set that comes with the kit is the Simon Says Stamp Window Frames stamp set. I perfectly outlines where the Simon Says Stamp Trio Window Wafer Die is supposed to go so it will encircle the windows. So I chose the heart outline stamp from the set and stamped it onto a piece of 4″x 5 1/4″ Ivory Simon Says Stamp paper. I then colored the image using my Prismacolor Premier colored pencils. I then cut the piece of Cotton Candy Simon Says Stamp cardstock in half and made it into an A2 card base. Once all of that was done and I had used the die to cut the windows into the paper, I used a My Favorite Things Square Shaker Trio pouches to create the window and I taped it in using the 1/8″ Scor Tape that was included with the kit. I then took the Buttons Galore & More Sweethearts Embellishments and added some to each little square. I then added more Scor Tape around each square and then around the perimeter of the piece of Ivory paper. I then lined the Ivory piece up in such a way that I would be sure to get the pink piece of paper in place as correctly as possible since I was lining it all up blindly. I then took the ‘Love You’ sentiment from the stamp set and stamped it using the Distress Oxide ‘Seedless Preserves’ ink. The card is very simple but I believe that is best when it comes to shaker cards because I don’t want to take away from the shaker bit.
As soon as this card kit arrived I made this card because it inspired me so much. Usually I have to sit for a day or two and play with what came in the kit to decide what I want to do but this one hit me right in the creative feels. Do you get the Simon Says Stamp card kit? What did you think of this month’s kit? Create everyday and things will be just peachy, let the creativity flow! XOXO
