Hello my crafty friends! Not only is this another installment in my Favorite Craft Goodies series but it is also my 100th post on this blog!! Thank you all so much for your support, for subscribing, and just for reading my posts. I can’t wait to see what the next 100 posts hold. So, as per the title, today I’m going to be sharing my favorite inks with you. There are functional, colorful, and fancy. At least that’s how I’ve broken it up. I will link to everything I can find, no affiliate links, just so you can find these products easier. Keep reading and maybe get some ideas for your own crafting times!
There are three inks that I use every day in my office, Gina K. Designs Amalgam Ink, VersaFine Onyx Black Ink, and Versamark embossing ink. The Gina K. Amalgam Ink is the black ink I use when I’m planning on using Gamsol with my colored pencils or want to do some heavy watercoloring. It is a dye ink so it dries quickly making coloring a breeze. Then there’s my favorite ink, the VersaFine Onyx Black which is a pigment ink. I love this pigment ink, it dries super fast so you can actually watercolor over it as well as use pencils but no Gamsol. I get nice and crisp lines with this ink and usually only need to stamp it once which is a really nice bonus. The last ink is one I think almost everyone knows, VersaMark Watermark stamp pad. This is used with embossing powder. Heat embossing is my favorite technique, so I love this ink. Almost as much as VersaFine, hah!
My favorite colorful inks are Distress Oxide Inks by Tim Holtz and Ranger. If my calculations are correct there is a total of 60 colors in the collection, all with matching re-inkers. These are great for techniques like blending and being used with stencils but they work really well with stamping too! They are beautiful on dark cardstock. These are a blend between dye and pigment ink but it’s not a true hybrid. I have all of the ink pads and all but one set of the re-inkers. It’s on my to get list. I have found that even with a lot of use, I don’t need to re-ink them as often as one would expect. The colors are vibrant, you can heat emboss on top of them, you can do techniques, they are just very versatile and I love them.
Now to my fancy inks! I discovered Delicata Inks this year and I’m so glad I have! I have three of the full pads: golden glitz, silvery shimmer, and rose gold. I love stamping with these inks, especially the gold. I even do ink blending with these inks and it looks so cool! These are on the pricier side of inks but I think that they are definitely worth it. They are a pigment ink and while you can heat emboss on top of them, I think it actually looks better without!
There you have it, my favorite inks! What are some of yours? If you like what you’ve read and want to see more, subscribe then you will be notified of every new post. Who wouldn’t want that? I hope you enjoyed and, until next time, keep crafting and keep creating! XO
