An Out of this World Birthday

Hello my dear crafty friends! I’m want to share with you today an out of this world birthday card that I’ve made for my uncle to give to a friend. There was a bit of trial and error in choosing the colors I wanted but once those were chosen, it was a breeze to complete.

I started out by stamping the Hero Arts Stamp set code number CM197. It comes with and adorable little boy and a cluster of planets strung up like balloons. I don’t own the dies but that’s okay because these are really pretty easy to cut out. Not too many sharp turns or tiny spots which is a blessing. To color everything I used my Prismacolor Premier colored pencils and then I used my Cutter Bee scissors to do the fussy cutting.

For the painting I used my favorite Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors. I used a bright yellow, a bright green, and a teal. I layered those colors twice and then I went over with the black. After that I took a paper towel and dabbed some areas up to let the color show a bit more. I did gold splatter with the paint in the palette and then I used Distress Paint for the white splatter.

I then used my NUVO glue to attach the boy and his planets to the card. Next I heat embossed a sentiment of Happy Birthday from a Sizzix stamp set. I embossed the sentiment in Ranger Fine Detail white embossing powder. And yes, I remembered my embossing buddy first. 😉

Here you have the final product! Do you love Galaxy Backgrounds? or can you not stand them? My social media is linked below like always, if you want to take a peak and maybe follow! XO❤
