Ink Layered Floral Card Step by Step

Hello my crafty friends! I hope you all are having a good start to your week. I was inspired by the new Just Us Girls challenge to try some layered stamping again (my actual submission for the challenge will be revealed by Thursday). I hadn’t done too much layered stamping since I made all of my Aunt’s wedding thank you cards. I guess I just burned out, hah! The stamps I used are from Hero Arts but I don’t know what it’s called and I couldn’t find it anywhere on their site. Let’s get to stepping!

Here you can see the stamp set I am talking about, it’s a three layer flower in a large size and a small size. I went with a top fold card but I did all of my stamping on Strathmore Smooth Bristol paper.

For the flowers I used Distress Oxide colors only. The purple colors I used were Milled Lavender, Dusty Concord, and Wilted Violet. For the pink flowers I used Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, and Picked Raspberry. I then chose two sets of colors for the little flowers. I used Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, and Faded Jeans for the blue flowers and then I used Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, and Fossilized Amber. I love using the Distress Oxides to do some layered stamping. The colors are bold and saturated. Unlike dye inks they don’t sink into the paper. Not immediately at least.

I even used the little layered stamps that were only two steppers. I know the card looks very spring time but I was just in the mood for something with bright colors.

I cut my stamped piece down a half an inch on the vertical and horizontal. I then chose a piece of gold patterned paper that I had bought from Michaels and cut it to the proper A2 size.

I then took my 1/4″ Scor Tape and used that to attach both pieces to the card base. The line up is a little off but I actually don’t mind it too much with this card.

I took a strip of the gold paper and cut it down to 5 1/2″ and adhered it to the side of the inside of the card. The sentiment I chose is from Clearly Besotted. It’s their ‘So Much To Say’ stamp set and I really like the lettering that they used for the set.

I then took my ‘Happy Anniversary’ die cut and shadow die cut and cut it using black paper for the shadow and then I cut gold miri card for the actual words. I used my Multi Matte Medium by Ranger to attach the word to the shadow and then the shadow to the card itself.

And here is the final product! Very different for me but I like doing things different now and again, you always learn something new! Do you like layered stamping? I’d love to know!
