Hello my crafty friends! And welcome back to another installment of Card Spotlight Sunday! I’ve been working on a lot of cards this week and this has been one of my favorites. I know sympathy cards are not the most fun to make but I believe that it really does help the recipient. Here’s what I used and how I created this card.
I got the background paper from Hobby Lobby and it is called Be Bold, Be Bright by the Paper Studio. There are 8 colors and five designs with two of each in each pack. Then, I took my Spellbinders Embossing Mat and used it for the first time on this card. To learn more about dry embossing with stencils, keep your eyes peeled next week. I used the Simon Says Stamp stencil ‘Circular Lace’ to make the impression. The gems are iridescent Studio Katia gems that turned blue when I took a picture of them. The ‘With Sympathy’ die is from the Simon Says Stamp brand. I cut two from 110# Neenah Solar white cardstock and one from a burnished gold cardstock I found in my stash. This gave really nice dimension without too much fuss. I used Stick It adhesive for all three to make it easier and less messy to stick together.
That’s all my friends! Short and sweet today. I hope everyone had a nice day and (if you celebrate) had a nice Easter with family and friends. Have a great start to your week and I will see you on Tuesday! XO
